President’s Letter: Refocusing SPUCC
September 2, 2019
August 26, 2019
Dear SPUCC Supporter:
Recently, the SPUCC board met to discuss obstacles and challenges we face as an organization and collectively as a region.
Though some issues remain evergreen many of SPUCC’s past activities are now addressed differently. Technology has bridged gaps that the organization once addressed. And I think it’s safe to say that we all have more local responsibilities demanding our time than ever before
Consequently, the SPUCC board determined it is time to edit and reprioritize its efforts to focus on activities that are not only relevant to today but also those that will deliver desired results.
In the months ahead and foreseeable future, SPUCC’s main focus will be on two main areas: advocacy for and against issues that impact our region; and, broadening access to leadership development activities for all cities, towns and villages. Preparing people for leadership positions and connecting them to local opportunities for service is fundamental to our future.
Finally, we are committing to utilizing technology and social media to communicate with SPUCC members, friends and allied organizations. You’ll see more online and we encourage you to “LIKE” the SPUCC Facebook page in order to receive up to date information.
