Located in Holdrege, NE. This is a special treat for wildlife lovers to bring their binoculars and some friends to the amazing Bald Eagle viewing. Cranes Meadows and Celebrate Nebraska! Near Alda, NE, off I-80, This is a year-round organization dedicated to understanding of the ecosystems of the Platte River Valley. It is open daily, with expanded hours during the crane season (8a.m.- 6p.m.). The center offers sunrise and sunset tours to a 25-person bunker to view cranes on the river. Hastings Bird Watching- N. of Hastings adjacent to the Platte River & S. of Hastings in the Rainwater Basin. Join the spring migration to the Platte River and Rainwater Basin. Over 250 species of waterfowl have been observed March-May including millions of geese & ducks and 500,000 sandhill cranes. Others include shorebirds and threatened and endangered species.
